Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar found himself tackling an unusual situation in the House on Tuesday. The Chair is usually used to telling Opposition members to sit down when they rise to speak out of turn, or to protest. Every once in a while, Dhankhar makes similar directions to the Treasury benches as well. On Tuesday, Dhankhar found himself issuing such directions to a minister. While replying during Question Hour, MoS (Health) S P Singh Baghel, who apparently got a little carried away with his reply, surpassed his time. Despite repeated calls by the Chair to wind up his speech and sit down, Baghel continued. Eventually, Dhankhar had no choice but to ask the next speaker to ask his question. Ping-Pong On Song After a long day’s work, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar joined Election Commission of India officials and the staff for a game of table tennis at the recreation room at ECI headquarters at Nirvachan Sadan on Monday evening. Kumar, who is fond of sports, including swimming and trekking, is a good TT player as well, it is learnt. The ECI's official Instagram handle shared a photo of the game, to which the Rajasthan Chief Electoral Officer's account replied that it was inspiring to see.
