Delhi Confidential: Expert Role

Earlier this year, a team of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) had visited Botswana in connection with the import of a new batch of cheetahs to India. When President Droupadi Murmu visited the African nation recently, a government veterinary expert was part of the delegation, which saw the symbolic handover of eight cheetahs to India. The veterinary expert, it is learnt, was on a state visit to be part of the release of the cheetahs into a quarantine facility at Mokoldi Nature Reserve. The cheetahs will remain in quarantine for a month, and a delegation will visit later to translocate the cheetahs to India.

The NDA’s landslide victory in Bihar Assembly polls seems to have prompted the BJP to review its post-election plans in the state. The party and its allies had earlier decided that the new government will take oath on November 22. But after the “200 paar” win, BJP leaders indicated that the ceremony could be advanced to an earlier date as they don’t need to wait so long for government formation. Party insiders said the swearing-in function will certainly be held on an auspicious day and it will be decided after consultation with all the allies.
