Two militants were killed Wednesday as the Army and the J&K Police foiled an infiltration bid at the Line of Control in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, the Army said. The identity of the militants and their affiliated group is being ascertained, said Srinagar-based Defence spokesperson Col Emron Musavi. “Early morning on 3 May at around 8.30 am, terrorists were sighted by the troops having infiltrated into their own side of the LoC. Intense firefight ensued, resulting in elimination of two terrorists,” Col Musavi said. Col Musavi said troops were on a high alert and a counter-infiltration grid was put in place since May 1.
