Zest kicks off with home team win

Basketball,Volleyball,Badminton,Table Tennis and Cricket were the events on the opening day.

The MIT and VIT basketball teams had an excellent outing,with the boys’ team as well as the girls’ team securing convincing opening victories.

In the day’s volleyball matches,RC Patel,VIT,DY Patil College of Engineering,KK Wagh College and Government College Of Engineering-Kopargaon recorded easy first-round wins,with all except RC Patel managing straight-sets victories.

COEP made full use of their homecourt advantage to thrash Bapurao Deshmukh College 3-0 in their opening badminton match. In the girls’ match,VIIT and MIT also whitewashed their opponents.

Table Tennis also followed a similar pattern as badminton,with predictably easy wins for the stronger teams in the first round.

The cricket matches are being held at the S.P. College Ground,in spite of which a significant number of spectators attended. MIT,MITCOE and BVM College-Gujarat beat SKN College,Singhad Institute of Technology and MGM Nanded respectively.
