Work will be over soon, builder assures flat-owners in Kothrud

Residents of Wonder Futura, located along the Pune-Bangalore highway in Kothrud have expressed their concern that the pending work promised by the builder will not be completed on time.

Residents of Wonder Futura, located along the Pune-Bangalore highway in Kothrud have expressed their concern that the pending work promised by the builder will not be completed on time.

The flat owners have alleged that builders Satish Mittal and Manoj Agarwal of Bharati Developers delayed the possession for about two and half years. Following agitations by residents in October, they promised to complete all work and hand over the possession by January 14.

Shiv Sena leader Shyam Deshpande also had intervened in the case.

Mittal, when contacted, said that they would definitely meet the deadline. “The date has not yet come and we have already started work.”

Residents, who called for the meet, said a lot of work including leakage work, drainage, gas bank, swimming tank, community hall are not yet completed. Resident Nikhil Roy and Sagar Belkhare said that with slow progress they have serious doubts about the builder meeting the deadline.

They said almost 80 per cent of persons staying there had paid the complete amount to the builder. With the rates ranging from Rs 20 lakh for 2BHK to Rs 35-40 lakh for 3BHK plus Rs 75,000 maintenance charges, the residents allege that the builder had diverted the money to construct the gaming mall along the highway.

They said though the construction of the mall is complete, the building work is incomplete. At a meeting of the builder and Shiv Sena leader and residents, the deadline of January 14 was set for completion of all the pending work and handing over of possession of the flats.

Meanwhile, some flat owners have also registered a complaint at the Pune district consumer court.

The main attraction of the project was the smart card-based access, monitoring visitors at doorstep, video surveillance, emergency call and SMS,auto detection of cooking gas and tap water auto switching on/off AC,TV,lights, fans, wifi connectivity and video conferencing. The residents allege that the builder has not completed any of these.

The project was launched in 2003 and was publicised as Pune’s first intelligent home with digital access.
