Woman booked for cheating

A woman has been booked by the police for allegedly cheating several people,to the tune of Rs 41 lakh,in 2008- 2009.The woman has been identified as Uma Uday Poharkar,a resident of Aundh Road,while a complaint has been registered by Alka Sadashiv Abdule (48) who is self employed and stays in railway quarters. Abdule sells saris and organises kitty parties in Khadki and Aundh area.

Poharkar became friends with Abdule in 2008 allegedly to use his business contacts and made them invest Rs 41 lakh.Poharkar allegedly promised to double the money in three years and promised a car to Abdule. Poharkar also gave Abdule 39 blank cheques that bounced later.
