After protest by parents who wanted their kids to be admitted to Bishops school, the school authorities have finally accepted their mistake and will be opening a new division for Lower Kindergarten. The protest was a result of a technical glitch in the admission process by the school authorities.
For Lower Kindergarten 155 seats were available. Now,45 more seats have been added. Accepting the mistake,Frank Freese, principal,Bishops School said,I accept the mistake by school that as many as 436 parents received the short messaging service (SMS) saying that they have secured admission. To compensate it we have decided to open another division for 45 students. These 45 students would be shortlisted out of 436. The selection will be done randomly by our online system.
But parents are agitated and have threatened to begin a sit-in protest if there demands are not met. Parent representative Parvez Khan said,We dont believe that there was a technical glitch. The school has given admission to many through their back doors. He added,We want the entire process to be carried out again manually. Until then we will continue our agitation.
When the principal was addressing the press conference a group of parents intervened and used foul language against the media reporters for giving news in the media over the chaos of admission process. Later,Freese apologised on behalf of the parents.
