Weekly super fast train between Pune and Jaipur

The Central Railway has introduced a weekly super fast special train on the Pune-Jaipur route. The train went on track from Jaipur on Tuesday and on Wednesday from Pune.

It has been more than four decades that the citizens had been demanding a special train between Pune and Jaipur. However,there was no development so far. But during this years railway budget,Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee had announced to start the Pune-Jaipur train,which started on Wednesday, said Harsha Shah,president, Railway Pravasi Group.

So far,people in the city had no direct connection between the two cities,even though the demand for a special train was being put up every year. There are Bangalore-Ajmer and Mysore-Ajmer trains,but Pune citizens could hardly get any tickets. To catch a special train to Jaipur,people had to go all the way to Mumbai. But now,with this train,the hardships of people will come to an end, she added.

On Wednesday,some commuters as well as railway officials performed puja at the Pune station. The train will prove beneficial for the businessmen and tourists,as the trade between the two cities is on the rise, a commuter added.

The 2939 Pune Jaipur special train will depart from Pune at 3.20 pm and arrive at Jaipur next day at 1.40 pm. This train will halt at Kalyan,Surat,Vadodara,Ratlam,Kota,Sawaimadhopur,Niwai Banasthali stations. This train will have a total of 18 coaches,including eight second class reserve coaches,six second class unreserved general compartments one IInd AC ,one III tier AC,one SLR and one seating-cum-ladies compartment of 18 coaches.
