Wine and woman
Mallika Sherawat seems to be making an attempt to win over NRI fans. Recently, the leggy lass attended a Wine Tasting Luncheon at the Malibu Family Wines,Malibu,California and met up with Vijay Amritraj. The event,a fundraiser hosted by the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, also organised a celebrity live auction that included an offer to spend a day with Mallika at a professional photo shoot. The winner was also offered a chance to enjoy lunch on the sets with Mallika and have their picture taken with the actress. Whoever won the contest,we hope, had ample wine before they went and spent their day with actress known for her lack of wits.

Tea break
IN times when actors chose to live on green or black tea,Vidya Balan is addicted to her cutting chai. The actress needs her daily dose of masala tea at regular intervals especially during shoots to relieve stress and exhaustion. The actress however, particularly faces a problem while shooting abroad. Recently during the shoot of R Balki’s Pa in Kualu Lumpur,Vidya got so desperate that she went restaurant-hopping,trying to find a joint that would serve masala chai.

Busy bee
ANURAG Kashyap is now working on his next film. After the box-office dud No Smoking, the director and actor John Abraham are working together again. Titled Bombay Velvet, the film has Abraham playing the lead role along with Naseeruddin Shah and Kay Kay Menon. John plays a real-life hero of the masses from the 1960s and the film is a thriller based on real incidents. After that,Anurag is also planning to make a film for Kalki Koechlin, who played Chanda in Dev D. Titled Happy Ending,it is about a girl’s journey,an experimental and edgy 90-minute film situated in a four-day span. The director has also decided to make an action film with Kunal Kapoor titled Doga, inspired by the comics that are popular in Northern India. Kashyap will start working on the film after completing Bombay Velvet. The buzz is that Doga has a lot of special effects and it will probably be the most expensive Indian film ever made.

Designs on you
During the shoot of Kambakht Ishq, designer Shabina Bhatia had to spend five hours in Los Angeles’ Waterworld, styling an outfit for Akshay Kumar.
Akshay had apparently worn an outfit that belonged to the Waterworld for a certain sequence. However,to maintain continuity,he needed to borrow or buy that outfit off but the authorities at the water park didn’t allow that. So Shabina was entrusted the job of designing a similar outfit,on which she spent five hours.
