‘Urban-rural divide increasing by the day’

“Every minister has to face the public every five years unlike the secretary under him.

“Every minister has to face the public every five years unlike the secretary under him. A minister must always be exposed to the people in order to be a successful politician,” said Nadendla Manohar,Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

Manohar was the chief guest at the convocation ceremony of Masters programme in government (MPG-06) conducted by MAEER’s MIT School of Government,Pune.

Manohar said,“The gap between the urban and the rural area is increasing day-by-day. Water supply,sanitation and other problems are becoming severe in cities. People are running to cities due to lack of employment in villages. Young politicians should understand such problems by keeping in touch with the people. This will pay you throughout your political career.”

Bhai Jagtap,MLC,was the guest of honour. Prof Vishwanath Karad,founder-director,MAEER’s MIT,Pune,Prof Sharadchandra Darade-Patil,Dean,MAEER’s MIT,Pune,Rahul Vishwanath Karad,executive director,MAEER’s MIT Group of Institutions,Pune,Prof L K Kshirsagar,principal,MIT,Pune,Prof DP Apte,director,MITSOB were also present.
