UoP workshop on teaching techniques concludes

A two-day workshop for members of academic and management council of the University of Pune (UoP) concluded on Friday.

A two-day workshop for members of academic and management council of the University of Pune (UoP) concluded on Friday. It focused on the urgent need to improve teaching techniques and research methodologies at UoP.

Several leading academicians and former heads of universities including IIT-Kanpur director Sanjay Dhande,former vice-chancellors Vijay Khole,K P Powar and R S Mali and Indian School of Business’ M R Rao conducted sessions at the two-day meet held at Sinhgad Institute’s Lonavala campus. Members of the 125-member academic council and 15-member management council participated in the meeting.

Career-centric education,impact of proposed reforms in higher education sector including the foreign universities bill,changes introduced by professional regulatory councils were other key topics discussed.

The exercise was aimed at familiarising the first-time members of various elected bodies of the university with the processes and functioning of the university system,an official said.
