The Pune police crime branch on Thursday received the custody of four suspects for the inquiry in connection to the sensational murder of an on-duty security supervisor Prahlad Laxman Jogdandkar at University of Pune campus on the night of May 2,2012.
Jogdandkar was shot at by an unidentified youth,whom he had caught with a woman in a compromising position on that night at a secluded place around 7.45 pm near the universitys servants quarters,located barely 200 metres from the Chatushrungi police station.
The Unit IV of the crime branch have received the custody of four suspects who were already arrested in connection with the case in Thane district registered under sections of Arms Act.
A senior officer with the crime branch said,Their custody has been taken because of suspicion that they are connected to some aspects of the murder.
The suspects have been identified as Manish Ramvilas Nagori (24),Rahul Mali (21),Vikas Khandelwal (22) and Santosh Bagde.
The officer said the leads about these suspects came to the fore during the investigation into the murder of anti-superstition activist Dr Narendra Dabholkar,who was shot dead on August 20.
