Traffic cop arrested for taking bribe from sand transporter

An FIR in this regard was lodged at the Hinjewadi police station on Thursday.

According to the ACB, the complainant in this case is into the business of transporting sand and other material in goods carrier vehicles.

The accused Lokhande allegedly demanded Rs 5,000 for allowing his five vehicles to transport the material without any legal action, an ACB press release stated.

After receiving a complaint in this regard, the ACB personnel laid a trap and nabbed Lokhande while accepting the money. Police inspector Virnath Mane is investigating the case.
