The Hadouk trio - Didier Malherbe,Loy Elrich and Steve Shehan - will bring to the city their unique music,inspired by places around the world - from Africa to America,Indonesia to India.

The Hadouk trio – Didier Malherbe,Loy Elrich and Steve Shehan – will bring to the city their unique music,inspired by places around the world – from Africa to America,Indonesia to India. Currently on a tour of India,they will perform in Pune on February 4 at the Shantaram Pond,Film & Television Institute of India. This World Jazz Concert is presented by Alliance Francaise de Pune,the French Embassy in India and Institut Francaise in collaboration with FTII. The trio use unusual instruments like Kehn,Hang,Bahu Flute and their two favourites,Hajouj and Doudouk. The French jazz band’s most recent album is Air Hadouk which released in 2010. Swings and loops,high voltage rhythms and gliding harmonies make up their free style musical journey. Catch them live in the city,6.30 pm onwards. The trio have played at various places in Paris and at French National Theatres. They have also participated in French jazz festivals as well as festivals in New York,London,Vancouver,Ouro Preto (Brazil),San Sebastian (Spain),and Essaouira (Morocco). Their India tour began on February 1 in Delhi and will continue to Delhi,Mumbai,Pune,Bengaluru,Ahmedabad,and Hyderabad till February 11.
