Three killed in separate road accidents

The Driver and the cleaner of a truck were killed in an accident when their truck rammed into another parked near Kawade Pat toll booth on Solapur Road early on Friday. Traffic movement on this patch of the road had become slow due to excessive fog for more than three hours,the police said.

The names of the deceased driver and cleaner were Shiraj Ahmed Chitguppa (45) and Jabbar Shaikh (35) and both were residents of Humnabad tehsil of Bidar district in Karnataka. G S Ghoge,head constable with Loni Kalbhor police station under Pune rural jurisdiction,said: “The mishap took place when the speeding truck driven by Shiraj rammed a parked truck from behind. We are yet to find out where the truck was coming from and where was it heading. We also don’t know how the truck went so off track. We believe the driver lost control.”

In another accident in Lonavala town on Friday afternoon,Vaishali Pankaj Tatia (32) was killed after speeding dumper owned by a private company hit her from behind and ran over her. Lonavala city police arrested Hanumant Nalawade and have registered a case against him. Station house officer at Lonavala city police station said,“Tatia was going home on her two-wheeler and the accident took place when she stopped at a roadside shop to buy something.” ens
