Chhota Bheem and Chutki,the little stars of the animated television series Chhota Bheem,were in the city to celebrate the shows eighth anniversary with the children of Bharatiya Samaj Seva Kendra recently. POGO,the channel that airs the show,organised a small birthday party that featured a screening of the recent Chhota Bheem movie,along with a birthday cake,a few games and activities for the children. The celebrations will go on for one month,during which the channels team and the shows characters will travel to various cities across the country. The team is also scheduled to visit Delhi,Lucknow,Amritsar and Coimbatore.

Renowned artist Ganesh Paynes oil painting of Lord Ganesha is on display at Bunglow 6,Saint Patrick Town. The artist,who passed away recently,was born in Kolkata and had a five- decade-long career,during which his paintings were exhibited around the world Paris,London,Washington and Germany. Known for his small tempera paintings,he was influenced by great painters such as Abanindranath Tagore,Hals Rembrandt,Paul Klee and even by Walt Disney cartoons. His was also inspired by Bengals rich storehouse of folklore and mythology.
