Mayor Prashant Jagtap also had directed the civic administration to stop the operations of all the swimming pools in the city to tackle the statewide water shortage. “The water levels in the dams have gone down, so every drop available now should be used carefully used,” he said after visiting the dams and water supply projects in the city.

Earlier, the PMC had directed all the swimming pools using drinking water for pools to shut.

The PMC has also set up squads to keep a check on the misuse of water by swimming pools, washing centres, and for construction purpose. “The PMC would initiate strict action against those misusing water,” said the commissioner.
