With an intense battle on the cards for the Baramati Lok Sabha seat in the forthcoming elections, the BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP government, in a show of strength, is holding a mega job fair, NaMo Maharojgar Melava, in Baramati on Saturday.

Meanwhile, NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) chief Sharad Pawar has conveyed to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde that he was keen to attend the official function alongwith his daughter and sitting Baramati MP Supriya Sule. Sharad Pawar also invited the chief minister and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and his nephew Ajit Pawar for lunch at his residence Govindbaug in Baramati on Saturday.

The Baramati Lok Sabha constituency is likely to witness a tough contest between sitting MP Supriya Sule of NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) and Sunetra Pawar of NCP led by her husband and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Both parties have started intense publicity campaigns in the constituency with leaders taking a dig at each other.

Ajit Pawar plans to make the most out of the mega job fair being organised in Baramati town on Saturday with Shinde and Fadnavis set to attend the function.

On the other hand, Sharad Pawar on Thursday expressed that he would like to attend the government function in his capacity as Rajya Sabha MP alongwith Sule.

In a communication to the chief minister and both deputy chief ministers, Sharad Pawar said, “I have understood that you are coming on an official tour to Baramati on Saturday. I and Supriya Sule in the capacity of MP would like to attend the official function.”

He further said that the mega job fair is being organised on the grounds of Vidya Pratishthan in Vidyanagari. “I am the chairperson of Vidya Pratishthan so I wish to officially welcome you in the premises of the organisation. I also invite you to the guest house of Vidya Pratishthan for tea,” Pawar said.
