Class XII students, who will appear for the state board examinations in February-March 2014,will have to fill their exam forms online.

After a successful pilot during supplementary examinations held in October, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has decided to replicate the initiative of online acceptance of forms for regular examination for Class XII. Students won’t have to pay fees online; it will be collected by schools or junior colleges.

Class X students, however, will have to fill up forms in hard copy format as the state board has decided to incorporate them in the online process from next year.

“Class XII students will have to approach respective junior colleges for filling up forms. The initiative was successfully implemented during Class XII supplementary examination. The online process is beneficial for all stakeholders and would ensure speedy examination-related processes,” said MSBSHSE secretary K V Patil.

“During the supplementary examination,we had prepared a special CD to educate college authorities on filling up forms online. It was distributed to colleges through respective divisional boards,” Patil said.

A total of 12,94,363 students,including 5,50,375 girls,had registered for the February-March 2013 Class XII examination.
