Over 50,000 students to appear in city
As many as 51,514 students in the city will appear for the SSC (class 10) examinations,beginning on Thursday.
In Pune district,which includes Pimpri-Chinchwad and Pune rural,there are 1,24,221 candidates,of which 68,364 are boys and 55,857 are girls. There will be 189 examination centres in the district.
According to a press note issued by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE),there will be multiple sets of question papers for English (third language) and Mathematics. Students with dyslexia,dyscalculia and dysgraphia will be given special concessions as per rule.
Exam for general mathematics paper will be conducted for the first time. There will be multiple sets of question papers for general mathematics,English (third language) and mathematics.
For Environment Science,40 marks are allotted for project and 60 for the written exam. Students will have to score 14 marks in practical and 21 marks in written exam to pass in the subject.
Meanwhile,in the state a total of 16,23,342 students will appear for the class 10 exam. The MSBSHSE has formed 245 flying squads ,which includes 7 for each district. Members of board and government officials will pay surprise visits to the exam centres and video recording will be carried out to check malpratice.
Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has extended the counselling helpline service to SSC students too. For councelling students can call 2553 6712.
