The Pune Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society (POGS),under the aegis of the Association of Maharashtra Obstetric and Gynecological Societies (AMGOS),recently organised a conference on Genital Tuberculosis and Infertility Management at Le Meridien hotel. The conference, which was attended by more than 350 gynaecologists and physicians from all over Maharashtra, was inaugurated by Dr H Chavan, joint director,Tuberculosis Health Services,Government of Maharashtra, and Dr Sanjay Gupte, former president of the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI). In a majority of cases, the disease causes irreparable loss to fallopian tubes and uterine cavity, leading to permanent infertility.
