Tata Motors shine at athletic meet
Tata Motors dominated the 50th Industrial Athletic Meet as they won the overall championship with 87 points at Sanas ground recently. Bajaj Auto was the runner-up with 36 points. In the mens category Parag Patil (Kohinoor Industries) emerged as the fastest. He clocked 11.58 sec to finish the 100m dash. In the womens segment,Ammunition Factorys Shraddha Gurav took 15.19 seconds to finish the 100m race. She emerged fastest in her category. Tata Motors Hrishikesh Bhuingade (400m),Ganesh Nerkar (800m and high jump),Shankar Kavnekar (1500m),Balkrushna Gurav (discus throw) emerged winner in their respective categories.
Talent Bricks win IT cricket title
Talent Bricks defeated Tikona Digital Networks by 86 runs to clinch the Maharashtra Krida-organised 7th Inter-IT Cricket Championship on Thursday. In the final,Talent Bricks posted 222 for the loss of two wickets and later bundled out their opponents for 136.
KPIT Cummins were placed third as they defeated Hewlett Packard by five wickets.
Veterans chess tourney from March 16
Joseph DSouza Chess Academy will conduct the veteran (above 60) chess tournament at Sadashiv Peth from March 16. The top five players will play a unique tournament with five under-13 players later this month. For details contact Joseph DSouza (9850218662),a press note said.
