Celebrity hairstylist Sam Overton from Australia was recently in the city to train the hairstylists at Juice Salon,Kalyaninagar. Hairstylists across Pune were impressed by the styles, trends and the techniques displayed by Overton, who is the creative director of TIGI in Australia. “Just keep your hair natural, listen to the hair dresser and be open to changes,” says Overton, when asked about some basic tips for Indians during monsoons. He feels that hairstyling depends a lot on the colour of the skin and eyes as well as the structure of the face. Overton, who has worked with high-profile clients all over the world, hopes to style the Beckhams (David and Victoria) and actor Mila Kunis.

Cinema for the Young

For Puneites who have been keeping the first Thursday of the month free to watch a short film presented by Arbhaat Short Film Club, there is good news. Now,Arbhaat Films is going to start a film club for children between the age of 10 and 16 years to broaden their perspective and sensibilities towards cinema and encourage them to reflect on the world around them. At the club, children will watch feature films, short films, documentaries and animation films, from all over the world and get guidance from filmmakers and film experts. The club will be inaugurated on August 3 at the National Film Archives of India.
