A princely affair
After having endeared himself to the audiences through his stellar performances in films like Company and Shootout at Lokhandwala actor Viviek Oberoi who was present in the city for the promotion of his latest flick Prince,did not disappoint the crowds as he along with the film’s producer Kumar Taurani interacted with the audiences at the SGS Mall in Camp. Speaking about the film Oberoi said that the film is a movie for everyone as it has a very local storyline and a lot of slick international technologies,which will endear it to the audiences.

Taste for the theatrical
For all those who love to watch the dramatisation of events that unfold in a edifying backdrop in front of a live audience the 2nd Annual Vinod Doshi Memorial Theatre Festival is back to delight both theatre loves as well as performers. The festival,which will be held at the Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium in Kothrud from March 22 till March 26 will feature five critically acclaimed plays that will be,performed both in Pune as well as in Mumbai. The five plays that will be featured during the festival include Afsane: Bai Se Bioscope Tak (March 22,Director: Akarsh Khurana ),Sex,Morality and Censorship (March 23,Director: Sunil Shanbag),Geli Ekvis Varsha (The Bygone 21 years)(March 24,Director: Aalok Rajwade),the musical play Katyar Kaljat Ghusali (March 25,Director: Ravindra Khare) and Katkon Trikon (March 26,Director: Girish Joshi). The five plays represent various topics like that of exploring the controversial issues of morality and censorship,about themes regarding the Nautanki and Baithak cultures or even the degenerating nature of relationships between youngsters and their parents. The musical play Katyar Kaljat Ghusali deals with the theme of a bitter rivalry in between two Sangeet Gharanas. Speaking about the festival director of the play Sex,Morality and Censorship,Sunil Shanbag says,“It is a great honour to be a part of the festival and to be associated with them as they believe in portraying diverse themes,in front of the audiences.”
