Delicate shapes
Candles are today no longer to dispel the darkness inside your homes but also to illuminate our minds. That fragile slender candle can melt a lover’s heart. It has become a special part of life-style in this modern world. It is perhaps this popularity of the wax sticks that Kanwal Kaur organised a candle making workshop at her MG Road residence from June 8 to 17. Participants will learn to prepare as many as 15 variety of candles. Kaur has revealed participants ranging from 12-year-olds to housewives above 35 are joining the workshop. Kaur points out the hurricane candles and the coffee bean candles to be the most popular.

Blues from Smoke
The strings will once again chime and make you sway to its tune. The Pune based blues-world groove-jam band,Smokestack is all set to rock the audience on the night of June 11,9.30 pm at Stone Water Grill. It is expected to be a treat for those with a taste for acoustic blues. The show will have Vishal and Anoop on guitar,vocals and bass,Michael on harmonica,Vidula on vocals and Sarathy on drums and percussions. It will also feature guest artist Varun Venkit from Agnee on the percussions. Smokestack,started in 2006,now pride themselves for playing blues in all their shades and styles,pegged on a dynamic,unfaltering groove.
