Stretching the boundaries
A special programme to felicitate winners of Surabhi Nag Pune Art Festival’09 was oragnised at Ishanya. The three winners of the fest — Laxman Chavan of Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya,Dattaram Teli of Thane School of Art,Thane and Snehal Chordia of Bharati Vidhyapeeth’s College of Fine Arts,won a scholarship,for one year of mentoring under the guidance of well known figurative and portrait painter,Prof Suhas Bahulkar. Prof Bahulkar shall groom the winners,on commercial and promotional aspects of the art industry,like,exhibiting,dealing for best rates,concentrating on popular art forms. They also won a cash prize of Rs.10000 each.

Clay time
It is said that children are like soft clay and can be moulded the way we want. Here is an opportunity for them to mould different shapes with a freedom of creativity and thoughts. A workshop on art and pottery is being organised by artist and teacher Sujata Dharap at Malaka Spice,Koregaon Park from April 20 to 23. This exercise is not only one fun-filled activity,but also help children know about their creative aspect. The workshop insists on fun where children would play with clay and feel confident with their creations. Time for the workshop will be from 5 to 7 pm.
