Glorious past
Vishwamitra Prakashan,Pune has organised a three-day trip to Pratapgad,Raigad and Kolaba with historian Babasaheb Purandare. Titled Anandyatra,the trip would include visit to these historic places along with narrations by Purandare. Special lectures by Purandare include topics such as – Shvarayancha Athavava Pratap,Sakshep Shivarayancha and Shivaray ani Armar and his relevance with today’s times. The tour will start from Pune on April 23 and conclude on April 25 after the last session at Kolaba.

Transcending boundaries
Harmony On The Stings,a musical event to be held on Monday,organised by Dreams Guitar Academy,not only promises a melodious evening,but also brings the most awaited platform for its students in Pimpri-Chinchwad. Around 20 students between the age of seven to 35 will be presenting a mixture of old and new Hindi songs,with a couple of English tracks. Apart from the students’ performance,local bands like Rich Rock Addiction and Melentropy will also perform. The most important part of the event will be the message of harmony through music. “It might sound like a cliché,but music transcends all boundaries and has the power to bring harmony that many speeches and even gestures fail to do. In the classes,we find people from all backgrounds coming together to learn music and then they are able to think in one direction,on one note,” says Alex Coutinho of the school.
