Adding flavour to the festive season,Jazz Utsav is to begin on November 20. The three-day fest is fully dedicated to hardcore jazz music and truly dedicated to jazz enthusiast. The event will witness national and International bands performing for the jazz enthusiasts. While Wanny Angerer Quartet and Nils Olav Johansen Quartet will perform on November 20,Thaerchens Tentett and Rafal Gorzycki Trio will enthrall the audience on November 21. The third day is reserved for performance by Saskia Laroo and Gary Lawyer with Louiz Banks trio. All the performances are scheduled at 6.30 pm. The first day of the fest is coinciding with the Expat programme of MCCIA. The event is being organised at Ishanya.

Knocked out
Knock Out finale witnessed numerous brawny men engaged in a thrilling display of raw power. This event was part of the tests of strength and will power,titled Knock Out Shaktimaan,which crowned Umer Gayakwadi of Solapur as the strongest man in Maharashtra. The winner of the competition powered his way to win the title of Knock Out Shaktimaan,and was rewarded with the cash prize Rs 1 lakh. The final round of the competition was held at the Maharaja Hotel,Dapodi,where 10 contestants displayed a potent blend of strength and presence of mind. The event was conducted by Knock out a brand from from SABMiller India.

Beyond belief
The book,“Paranormal Experiences- Beyond the Realms of Reason” by Mehra Shrikhande was launched at the hands of Lila Poonawalla on Sunday. The book deals with realms like the paranormal world of metaphysics,out -of the body experience,near-death experience,ghosts and apparitions,spiritualism,spirit possession,reincarnation,clairvoyance and telepathy to name a few. The book tries to understand death and also the philosophy of life and answers question like — Do we continue to live after we die or do our bodies house an immortal spirit? The book is a result of Shrikhande’s interaction with several people who had had some kind of brush with the supernatural. The book has been published by the Delhi-based Unicorn Publishers and is available at all major book stores across the country.
