Pune police crime branch on Thursday arrested six including a labour contractor for the murder of builder Surendra Sumitlal Shaha,55,the owner of Bhakti Group in Bhosari. Cops said Shaha was killed over a dispute for a piece of land in Kasarwadi.
The arrested have been identified as Rajesh Babanrao Mote (30),Sanjog Chandrakant Nalawade (25),Satish Chandrakumar Pillay (24),Mangesh Jaysingh Pardeshi (27),all residents of Kasarwadi,Sagar alias Shahrukh Rohidas Kamble (24) of Pimpri and Ganesh Bhimaji Bhor (24) of Lohegaon. Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Anant Shinde said,Investigations revealed that there was a litigation going on between Mote and Shaha over two acres.
Shaha had already paid some amount but Mote wanted to more.
They held meetings but no solution was reached. On Wednesday,at around 1 pm the accused assaulted Shaha with sharp weapons in his car after a similar meeting on Wednesday at around 2.30 pm near a restaurant in Kasarwadi.
Anil Kilachand Shaha (64),Shahas brother-in-law,had lodged a complaint in this regard with Bhosari police station. A team led by inspector Mohan Vidhate of unit III of crime branch laid a trap and nabbed the six accused near on Bhosari-Nigdi Road as they were trying to flee in a car. DCP Rajesh Bansode said,Mote is a labour contractor and others work for him. Some of them are on police record.
Investigtaing team comprised PSIs Janinder Tandle,Arun Surve,constables Shakir Jinedi,Ashok Gaikwad,Javed Pathan,Bharat Udale,Kaluram Renuse,Bhanudas Bhalerao,Prasad Kamble and Shashikant Shinde.
