MCA Red defeated Sangli DCA on the basis of a superior first innings lead in the Senior Super League Cricket Tournament organised by the Maharashtra Cricket Association at the DY Patil Ground on Monday.
Sangli batted first and put up a total 251 runs before being bowled out in 36.1 overs. Abhijit Kadam top-scored with 62 runs,while Sumeet Chavan supported him well with 37 runs.
For MCA,Sandeep Adole picked up three crucial wickets for 103 runs while Sumit Dali supported him well with 2 wickets of his own. In reply,MCA put up a huge total of 401 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 64 overs before declaring their innings .
Naushad Shaikh and Sandeep Adole scored centuries to give their team a massive lead. Tarnjit Dhillon and Uday Patil of Sangli piced up a couple of wickets each but could not do enough to restrict the opposition.
In their second innings Sangli managed to score 238 runs for the loss of 2 wickets before bad light stopped play. Sumeet Chavan got out one run short of his century while Rakesh Ubale contributed with 63 runs.
