DID L’il Masters ended with a bang on Sunday as Faisal Khan won the finale held at Balewadi Sports Complex. The 13-year-old Faisal took home a scholarship of Rs 10 lakhs and a gift hamper,while the runners up and other finalists also received several goodies. The evening was marked by performances by the top five finalists and their skippers. Om Chetri’s performance with a human pyramid and Saumya Rai’s chinese themed dance were much spoken about,as was Jeet Das’ tribute to Michael Jackson. Faisal Khan’s dance theme was the golden era of films while Rohan’s performance combined music,dance and lights for complete entertainment. Akshay Kumar unveiled the first look of his new film,’Oh My God’ at the finale and offered the finalists an opportunity to be part of the promotional dance video for the movie.
Bombay to Pune
Bombay Jayshri,a leading Carnatic classical singer will perform in Pune on August 18 at the Alpa Bachat Bhavan. The concert is being organised by Poona Sangeetha Sabha as an attempt to promote Carnatic music and culture in the city. Jayshri’s career spans across two decades which includes Carnatic music,experiments with Western music and playback singing for Hindi and South Indian films. Her most famous film tracks include Narumugaye,Vaseegara in Tamil and Zara Zara in Hindi. At the concert,Jayashri will be accompanied by Embar Kannan on violin,Giridhar on Mridangam and Anirudh Athreya on Kanjira. The concert will begin at 5.15 pm.
