SCC defeats Cricket Next,wins U-14 title

Sanjay Cricket Academy (SCC) defeated Cricket Next Academy by 31 runs to win the under-14 division of the Sanjay Mahadev Nimhan Memorial Trophy at the Sanjay Sports Academy ground on Baner Road recently.

SCC won the toss and chose to bat first. They put up a decent total of 124 runs for the loss of one wicket in their allotted 15 overs. Pratik Pokale top-scored with an unbeaten 65 while Aditya Nimhan supported him well with an unbeaten 36 runs,said a press release issued here on Tuesday.

For Cricket Next,Devika Vaidya was the pick of the bowlers picking up the only wicket of the innings. He gave away 23 runs in his three overs. In reply,Cricket Next Academy managed to score 93 runs for the loss of four wickets in their 15 overs.

Hrushikesh Motkar top scored with 26 runs while Praful Adagle supported him well with 19 runs of his own. But it was not enough to help their team on to a victory.

For SCC,Yash Jagdale and Akshat Chandrakumar were the pick of the bowlers as they picked up a couple of wickets each for their team. They fell short of their target by 31 runs.

In the under-17 final,Ranjane Cricket Academy defeated Angel School by eight wickets. Angel School won the toss and chose to bat first.

They scored a total of 72 runs before being bowled out in 14.3 overs.

Digvijay Kalbhor top scored with 21 runs while Shubham Kalbhor supported him well with 18 runs of his own. For Ranjane CC,Siddharth Jalan was the pick of the bowlers scalping three wickets for 10 runs in three overs. Swaroop Nakhate supported him well with two wickets of his own.

In reply,Ranjane managed to achieve their target in 10.4 overs and with eight wickets to spare. Swaroop Nakhate top scored with an unbeaten 35 while Shubham Ranjane supported him well with 23 runs of his own. For Angel School,Harshavardhan Kalbhor and Mayur Dhamdhere took a wicket each but could not restrict the opposition. RCC won the match with eight wickets to spare.
