Saving girl child: Function on November 6

At a function organised in Solapur by former MP of Solapur Subhash Deshmukh on November 6,over 145 couples will take an eighth vow,after the seven taken during marriage,to welcome a girl child in the family. An initiative of Lokmangal Pratishthan,the programme will be held under the guidance of Dr Sudha Kankariya,an Ahmednagar-based doctor who has been working to save the girl child. So far,the Pratishthan has had more than 800 couples take the eighth vow.
