Sandeep Singh Gill is new SP, Pune Rural

Sandeep Singh Gill, currently serving as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Zone 1, in Pune city, will soon take charge as the Superintendent of Police in Pune Rural.

In fact, he was transferred to Pune Rural in September last year. While Pankaj Deshmukh, the then SP, Pune Rural, was transferred to Mumbai. But Deshmukh moved an application before the Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal (MAT) and got a stay on his transfer. So, Gill continued to work as DCP (Zone 1) of Pune city police.

On Friday, as per the state home department order, Deshmukh has been transferred to Pune city police as Additional Commissioner of Police. Deshmukh will soon be joining his new position.

Accordingly, Amitesh Kumar, Commissioner of Pune City Police relieved Gill from the post of DCP (Zone 1) on Saturday, so that he can join Pune Rural as SP now.
