Pune-based band Acoustrix will be performing at Olive Bistro today.

Pune-based band Acoustrix will be performing at Olive Bistro today. Known for their regular tributes to The Beatles,the band will perform songs from the ’60s and ’70s. The band has,in the past,covered songs of bands such as Crdence Clearwater Revival,The Everly Bros,The Eagles,Elvis Presley,Cliff Richard and Simon and Garfunkel among others. The band is led by Benny Soans on the drums,Desmond Taylor on rhythm guitar and vocals,Bertie D’Silva on bass and Barry Murray on acoustic lead guitar.

Hindi Laugh Riot

The famous Tinkle comic has turned Hindi. The Hindi edition will have fondly-remembered characters like Shikari Shambu with all his jungle jamborees,Tantri the Mantri with his evil schemes,Suppandi with his quirky thought processes and Kalia the Crow with his heroic escapades. The comic will be a 80-page collection of stories and the creators say they have kept the language simple. Tinkle magazine is India’s first English language comic introduced in 1980 by Anant Pai.

Child’s Entertainment

Bhaashaa,a city-based NGO in association with Children’s Film Society of India and Dadasaheb Phalke Film City,is organising a two-day film festival called Chitrangan. Organised for children between eight and 13,the festival will be inaugurated on Thursday by Laxmikant Deshmukh,managing director of Dadasaheb Phalke Film City. International award-winning films Heda Hoda,Banyan Deer and Chetak,Kali,Gattu,Sunday,Radio comes to Rampur,Dost Magarmachh and Karamati Coat will be shown between 9am and 1.30pm.
