Roads and nullahs need immediate attention

Traffic congestion is a major problem faced by all Paud Road residents particularly in mornings and evenings,when traffic crawls at a snail’s pace. The road department needs to focus on widening of internal roads and construction of a flyover. The civic administration had plans to link Paud Road with Senapati Bapat road via a tunnel through the Vetal tekdi. But we can’t see any progress.

All nullahs are open and PMC needs to pay particular attention to a nullah near More Vidyalaya,Pratik Nagar. Not a single slum development scheme has so far been seen. For many years,people of Bhusari Colony pressed the administration to close down the garbage depot. The PMC no longer uses the plot to dump garbage but the area is still used to shift garbage from tempos to bigger vehicles. This 28-acre land is ready for Shivshrishti Project but no further development seems to be seen. There is no children’s park in Bhusari Colony,children have to go to Kothrud garden.

In Sutardara,water distribution needs urgent attention. Subways,pending for years,need to be taken up.
