RCF blank out Rovers Academy

RCF blanked out Rovers Academy 5-0 to enter the next round of the Dr Avinash Bhide memorial hockey tournament held at the SP College hockey ground on Wednesday.

RCF started well and launched attacks on the opposition goal right from the start. They drew first blood in the 15th minute through Laxman Rao. Rao was well set up by Rajendra Nannoor and helped his team take an early lead. They then kept the pressure and missed two easy chances to extend their lead. They finally managed to do so at the stroke of halftime when they won a penalty stroke. Shiva Deep stepped up to the plate and made no mistake in converting the stroke. RCF went into halftime leading 2-0.

The second half saw more of the same from RCF. They won another penalty stroke in the 33 rd minute. This time Laxman Rao came forward and converted the stroke with ease. RCF were then increasing the frequency of their attacks and they made the score 4-0 five minutes later. Monish Rama was well set up by Rajendra Nannoor on his way to scoring.
