Praveen Togadia,international general secretary of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP),today announced the launch of a nationwide campaign,Ram Janmabhumi Shakti Jagran,between August 16 and November 16,to demand the building of a Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Togadia said,In this campaign,5 crore people from 3 lakh villages across India will recite Hanuman Chalisa or Hanuman Stotra to demonstrate the unity for the cause. A dharma sammelan will also be organised at over 8000 places in India towards the end of the campaign.
In Hinduism both the idol and the place of the idol are sacred. We will not compromise on any of the two, he said.
When asked abut the timing of the campaign,Togadia replied by saying,The stones for the mandir were being carved. Now that the carving is done,we are ready to build a mandir.
