Rajpurohit scores brace,wins MIT Day 1 match

MIT,Pune,coasted to an easy 3-0 victory on the opening day of the Summit inter-engineering sports meet at the MIT campus on Saturday. Lalit Rajpurohit was the star for MIT as he scored a brace while Kamal Majithia weighed in with a solitary strike.

In other first round matches,VIT Pune scored a 3-1 victory over PICT. Aniket Bothe,Abhishek Gosavi and Pratik Manas were the goalscorers for VIT while Sanket Aikal scored a consolation goal for PICT. MITCOE lost to SAE 3-2 on penalties after both teams finished regulation time locked at 0-0.

In the womens football tournament,MIT beat DJ Sanghavi 2-1,with Tara Ann Thomas scoring both goals.

In basketball,IPS Academy,Indore,beat MIT Alandi,32-22 with Vishal Gehlot of IPS,Indore,scoring 12 points. In the second match,MITCOE beat Siddhant COE 28-25 with Sagar Chauhan recording 20 points for MITCOE.

In the third and final match of the day,MANET ran out 38-25 victors over BVPCOE. Navjeet Singhs 20 points for MANET was the highlight.

In the volleyball competition,MITCOE beat Vidhyavardhini COE 2-0 while AISSMSCOE beat RGIT,Mumbai,by the same scoreline. Siddhanth COE and JNECCOE also recorded similar 2-0 victories over their respective opponents.
