Rajesh Kumar Verma takes over as new Pune DRM

Rajesh Kumar Verma, a 1993-batch officer of the Indian Railway Stores Services (IRSS), has taken over as the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Pune Division as of January 7, 2025.

Verma previously served as Chief Material Manager in Northern Railway and has held various roles across Indian Railways, including postings in Northern Railway, South Central Railway, North Eastern Railway, and production units like the Rail Coach Factory. He also worked with PSUs such as RITES and CRIS, managing procurement and supply chain operations.

While at RITES, Verma oversaw nationwide medicine distribution for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, ensuring supplies reached even remote areas. At CRIS, he managed supply chain activities for IT projects, improving ticketing, freight operations, and procurement systems.

Verma’s achievements include leading an award-winning depot at South Central Railway and receiving recognition for his work in warehouse management. He has also completed management training at institutes in Malaysia and Singapore and gained expertise in World Bank-funded project procurement.

Verma holds a degree in Civil Engineering and a postgraduate qualification in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering from IIT Delhi.

As DRM of Pune Division, Verma has set priorities to enhance train safety, improve punctuality, complete ongoing projects, and elevate passenger experiences in line with Indian Railways’ modernization plans.
