Rahul Gandhi to hold rally for Congress candidate in Pune on May 3

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will hold a campaign rally for Pune candidate Ravindra Dhangekar on May 3 (Friday).

The event will take place at 4 pm at Shri Shivaji Preparatory Military School (SSPMS) grounds near Regional Transport Office, Pune.

City Congress chief Aravind Shinde and party’s campaign chief for Pune city, Mohan Joshi said the state leadership of the party including Nana Patole, Balasaheb Thorat, Prithviraj Chavan, Ravi Chenni and leaders of allied parties in Maha Vikas Aghadi will be present for the rally.

“A 40 feet by 30 feet platform has been created with with an audience seating capacity of about 30,000 to 35,000.

Due to security reasons, about 12,000 less seats than planned were installed,” said Shinde at a press conference held at Congress Bhavan.

He said the venue will have four entry points, of which one at Shahu Maharaj Statue will be exclusive for VVIPs. Four LED screens are also being erected so that thsoe who do not get a seat can watch and listen to the speeches.
