Pune: MSEDCL suspends engineer for not responding after power failure

The power breakdown was caused due to stormy weather conditions and strong gusts of wind on the late evening of May 9.

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has suspended an assistant engineer from the Nagar road division for failing to attend to the power breakdown in the Vishrantwadi area on May 9.

Nishikant Raut, Public Relations Officer, MSEDCL, said that superintending engineer Sunder Latpate decided to suspend assistant engineer S J Puliken after he failed to attend to the power breakdown in the Vishrantwadi area.

The power breakdown was caused due to stormy weather conditions and strong gusts of wind on the late evening of May 9.

The supply was cut from midnight and restored by the noon of May 10.

However, the assistant engineer had not bothered to respond to the breakdown, Raut added.
