Pune man ‘shot dead’ in Botswana

A native of Shirur in Pune,who was working in the Republic of Botswana,died in an incident of firing in the early hours of Wednesday

A native of Shirur in Pune,who was working in the Republic of Botswana,died in an incident of firing in the early hours of Wednesday. He has been identified as Mahesh Suryakant Bramhe (45). His brother Madhusudan Bramhe said that incident took place around 3 am IST.

His family said Mahesh was working with a private firm in Botswana for the last six years. He was holding a senior post. After attending a birthday party of one his seniors,he and his colleagues were returning home when someone opened fire.

Two bullets hit Mahesh causing his death. Two of his colleagues,Santosh Pande and Girish Kumar from Bangalore were also injured. Another colleague of Mahesh called his family in Pune around 7.30 am Wednesday and informed them about his death.

Shiv Sena MP Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil reportedly contacted the Indian Embassy in Botswana and officials from the External Affairs Ministry so that the family could get back Mahesh’s body. The funeral would take place in Shirur. He is survived by his wife,two children,three brothers
