The Pune centre of Infosys at Hinjewadi which has emerged as its largest campus in the country in terms of strength with 23,000 employees,overtaking Bangalore (20,000) and Chennai (13,000) will recruit another 2,000 by year-end and invest Rs 250 crore over the next year.
Mritunjay Singh,associate vice-president and head of the Pune centre of Infosys Technologies Limited,said,We,at present,have 18,000 employees in IT and 5,000 in the BPO section. Company estimates 16 to 18 per cent more business coming its way and the total employee strength will touch 25,000 by year end.
Infosys was the first IT company to come up at Hinjewadi Phase-I in the IT park developed by MIDC. In 1995,it set up its campus in the 25-acre land in Phase 1 and was the first company to take possession of 113 acres of land in the second phase of Pune IT Park. We have completed the cricket stadium. The work of the football stadium is on. Four buildings that house BPO,delivery centre,and employment care centre are operational, said Singh.
The construction of the 10-floor building that will house the BPO section and a delivery centre are also under way.
