A Bus Rapid Transport System (BRTS) stop has been engulfed in darkness for over a month now, with the electricity supply to the bus stop being cut by the power utility firm due to a damaged wire.

For a month, the display boards, automated doors, announcement systems have not been functional. This is when the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) is gearing up to celebrate the first anniversary of the Nagar Road BRTS.

According to PMPML officials, the supply to the Sangamwadi BRT bus stop was discontinued on July 22 when heavy rainfall led to water logging leading and damaged the main supply wire. “It rained heavily and led to water logging.

The underground supply wire came out and led to a short circuit. Since the vehicles were in danger of electrocution, we called up the MSEDCL authorities to discontinue the supply,” said Kailas Gawade of BRTS.
