Pune: BPO employee murdered by her colleague with sharp weapon, financial dispute suspected

“Our initial information suggests that both the victim and the attacker worked accountants with the same multinational BPO, WNS Global. The attack seems to be a fallout of a dispute between them. Around 6.15 pm on Tuesday the suspect attacked the victim woman with a sharp metal weapon. She sustained serious injury on her elbow,”said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Himmat Jadhav.

DCP Jadhav added, “The woman was rushed to a private hospital. Later in the night she succumbed to her injuries while being treated. The suspect has been placed under arrest. Initial probe suggests that the suspect had given some money to the victim and she had failed to return it. Further probe to ascertain the exact sequence of events has been launched.” An FIR was registered at Yerawada police station late in the night on Tuesday.
