The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) administration on Friday withdrew its proposal of shifting the statue of Dadoji Konddeohe had trained Maratha warrior king Shivaji in the art of warfarefrom the P L Deshpande garden after the move was criticised at a coordination meeting of party leaders.
The statue that was earlier shifted from Lal Mahal to P L Deshpande Garden was proposed to be moved out of the city. However,after opposition to it by a few parties,it was withdrawn by the administration, said Mayor Vaishali Bankar.
The statue had in the past,too,led to controversy with NCP and Congress taking on the saffron combine over the issue. In another decision,the party leaders decided to give bonus to employees of transport utility PMPML. The bonus proposal would be tabled in the standing committee for approval, she said.
The party leaders decided to postpone the decision on the civic administration proposal on pay and park for vehicles on city roads.
