To mark the World Environment Day on Friday,the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will undertake a tree plantation drive and distribute saplings in different part of the city.
The civic body has urged citizens,students and social organisations to participate in the drive.
The tree plantation will be conducted at Taljai Hill at 7 am,Nagar Road near Ramwadi octroi post at 9 am,Viman Nagar at 9.30 am and Chandan Nagar at 11.30 am while saplings will be distributed near Paud flyover at 9 am.
The PMC,along with ALERT and Centre for Environment Education (CEE),has organised a training camp which will highlight different ways to tackle climate change.
During the training,the participants will be informed about the reasons for climate change,and make smart choices that reduce CO2 emission.
Interactive slide show,case study presentations and distribution of training kit will be done while participants are expected to use their knowledge and the training kit to create awareness among their own community; such as eco-clubs in schools,colleges or neighbourhood.
