PMC issues warrants to 2.7 lakh properties

Taking a stern action against the property tax defaulters,the Pune Municipal Corporation this year issued warrants to 2.70 lakh properties.

Taking a stern action against the property tax defaulters,the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) this year issued warrants to 2.70 lakh properties. Responding to this,about 40,000 property owners have paid Rs 26 crore to the civic body.

The tax department of PMC launched a special drive for the next few months. In the last 12 days,186 warranted property owners have paid Rs 2.25 crore,and hence the PMC have not taken any action against them.

PMC in a release said that strict measures will be taken against the defaulting property owners.

The PMC has collected a total amount of Rs 293 crore till now,as against the last year’s collection of Rs 262 crore,the press release said.

Meanwhile,the Bibwewadi ward office took action against some unauthorised shades built on the hill slope and hilltop. Through this action,2800 sq ft of space was freed. The PMC had earlier issued notices against these properties.
