Who says sushi doesn’t go with anything but sake? Diners were treated to the fine combination of sushi and wines at the Silk Route restaurant in Koregaon Park on Saturday evening. Sushi dishes such as Salmon Inari,Tuna Maki,Shitaki Sandwich,Prawn Tempura Sushi and Avocado Maki were accompanied by Rose and Sauvignon Blanc wines from Deccan Plateau vineyards at this event conceptualised by Jyotiee Balani. Among the guests spotted were MonikaTrivedi,Deepak Shikarpur,Minocher Patel,Sonja Chandrachud,Seema Singh,Payal Baldota,Aruna Dua and Ma Sadhana.

Mahesh Manjrekar was all praise for his upcoming Marathi film,Jai Jai Maharashtra Maaza,while in the city on Monday. The film,produced and directed by Gautam Jogalekar and co-produced by City Corporation Ltd,is all set to show off the positive aspects of the state. “Rather than stressing on the shortcomings of the state,the film will showcase its good and positive virtues,” said Joglekar. The film revolves around an American girl of Indian origin,who returns to Maharashtra after 22 years only to reconnect with her roots and fall in love with the land and its culture. Anusha Dandekar makes her debut in Marathi cinema with this film,which also stars Manjrekar and Mrunal Kulkarni.
